Selling Your Home in Fountain Valley
A plan built around your goals, then strategic pricing, preparation and marketing through closing.
A fast market still needs a plan
In my July 2026 market update, Fountain Valley single-family homes sold in an average of 14 days at 104.00% of list price. When homes move that quickly, it's tempting to put a sign in the yard and wait. Yet a fast market is where preparation and offer strategy make the biggest difference, because you may only get one round of buyers.
I'm Jeanette Nelson of Jeanette Nelson Real Estate at Keller Williams Realty, a top producer since 2003.
Handling multiple offers
When several buyers want your home, I send a strict multiple counter offer to each of them to find the most motivated buyer. Before you accept, I talk directly with each buyer's agent and lender to confirm the details, so you go through escrow one time, not two or three. The highest number isn't always the strongest offer.
Read whether to wait for multiple offers and comparing offers beyond price.
What Fountain Valley buyers are looking for
Fountain Valley's appeal is space: lots around 7,200 square feet are common, homes often have more square footage than comparable Huntington Beach tracts, and the 405 is close. Presentation should show that off: the yard, the layout and the room to grow. I coordinate repairs, staging, photography and video with vendors I trust.

Fountain Valley
Fountain Valley at a glance
Where Spacious Living Meets the Coastal Lifestyle.
- The homes
- Housing is weighted toward traditional single-family homes in mature, established neighborhoods. Lots around 7,200 sq ft are common, and homes often offer more square footage than comparable Huntington Beach tracts, which can make lower-priced options harder to find.
- Why people choose it
- People choose it to stay very close to the beach and much of the Huntington Beach lifestyle, often with more house and land, a comfortable established suburban feel, parks and a strong sense of community.
- Getting around
- Convenient access to the 405, a significant advantage for regular commuters.
- Nearby
- Borders Huntington Beach so closely you can cross between the two cities without noticing; the beach is a short drive.
- The trade-off
- Versus Huntington Beach: potentially more house and land and easier freeway access, but you give up the actual coastal-city location and immediate Huntington Beach lifestyle, and the wider range of lower-priced condos and cottages.
